SLEEP APNEA SURGERY

New Technology for Better Sleep

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing is repeatedly interrupted during sleep. There are two main types of sleep apnea: obstructive and central. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common form of sleep apnea. It occurs when the muscles in the back of the throat fail to keep the airway open, despite efforts to breathe. Central sleep apnea occurs when the brain fails to properly control breathing during sleep.

What are the Symptoms of Sleep Apnea?

The most common signs of sleep apnea include:

  • Chronic or loud snoring
  • Dry mouth
  • Morning headache
  • Insomnia
  • Difficulty concentrating while awake
  • Learning and memory difficulties
  • Irritability

Talk to your doctor if you believe that you have any signs or symptoms of sleep apnea.

Treating Sleep Apnea

Camellia ENT offers Inspire Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulator to treat sleep apnea. Dr. Foreman is the only surgeon in the state to offer this treatment.

Inspire is the only FDA approved obstructive sleep apnea treatment that works inside your body to treat the root cause of sleep apnea with just the click of a button. It is a small device placed during a same-day, outpatient procedure. While you sleep, Inspire opens your airway, allowing you to breathe normally and sleep peacefully.

Why Choose Inspire?

  • Alternative to CPAP: Inspire applies gentle stimulation to key airway muscles during sleep, allowing you to sleep without a mask, hose, or machine.
  • Outpatient: Inspire is placed under the skin of the neck and chest during a short, outpatient procedure.
  • FDA approved: Inspire has been proven both safe and effective in multiple clinical studies.
